Jennifer Johnson has had a diverse and extensive career in the world of government relations, lobbying, and business development.

Jennifer Johnson began her career in politics by working for United States Senate Whip Al Simpson of Wyoming. She gained experience working in the U.S. Senate before moving on to the U.S. House of Representatives, where she served Rep. Joel Hefley of Colorado, a senior Member of the Natural Resources Committee. Her work on Capitol Hill allowed her to focus on issues related to energy and natural resources, agriculture, transportation and infrastructure, federal funding, and public lands – especially leasing and permitting projects on public lands.

Throughout her career, Johnson has worked with a wide range of clients, including publicly traded and Fortune 500 corporations such as Equitrans Midstream, Quanta Services, and Pilot Flying J. She has also assisted small privately-owned businesses in securing permits for projects on federal lands. In addition to corporate clients, she has represented Native American Tribes, municipalities, universities, and non-profit organizations like the B&O
Railroad Museum.

Johnson's career has not been limited to domestic affairs. She served as a Government Affairs Director for an international defense company based in the United Kingdom, where she educated the firm on U.S. Congressional legislation and Capitol Hill politics.

Jennifer Johnson also worked at a prominent Washington, DC law firm. During her time there, the firm was ranked as one of the top five lobbying firms in the country. She worked on behalf of clients that included the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, and various Native American Tribes.  In 2001, Johnson joined Washington Strategies and helped grow the lobby business into the top-three rated appropriations partnership and later acted as managing director of the firm.

In 2012, Jennifer Johnson founded the Bighorn Public Affairs Group. This firm specializes in developing and managing legislative and government relations plans for its clients. Johnson has emphasized building strong relationships with Members of Congress and their staff on both sides of the political aisle.

Johnson holds a degree in marketing and corporate management from Florida Atlantic University. Beyond her professional endeavors, she has pursued interests in real estate development, owning businesses such as a pub in New York City, an apartment building in Washington, D.C., and a luxury medical spa and salon in Utah.

Having grown up in the Bighorn Mountains near the border of Montana and Wyoming, Jennifer Johnson thoroughly enjoys bringing senior Congressional staffers to Wyoming each year on a fact-finding natural resources tour. She is also a proud parent of a sports-loving teenager.

Jennifer Johnson's career is marked by her extensive experience in government relations, lobbying, and business development, with a focus on aiding clients to secure federal permits, move legislation through Congress to become law, and fix problems caused by federal oversight or misguided implementation of the law.
